Made only one purchase at a local gun show today; an adorable 10-round magazine. Very low profile for my bullpup. I passed on the beefy 60 round double-stack magazine. It seemed a little too performative and more expensive than two 30-round mags.

There image is of a shooting target, a grid to help with sighting adjustments, a half inch black dot at the center, a 1 inch concentric green dot, a 2 inch red dot and a 5 inch black ring. These color contracts are designed for visibility at range. The grouping is five round at the 5-oclock position, measured by the Range Buddy software at 0.97" and 1.36" low. According to several ballistics calculators, this is almost precisely where it should be for the rifle to be zeroed at 100 and 200 yards. Not pictured here, when I took it out to the 100 yard range, it was pretty much centered but, perhaps because it was pouring down rain, the group had opened up, more so than one would expect for simply increasing the range. #sarb15 #firearms #shootingsports #rangeday #bullpup
Range Day started pretty well. After zeroing my SARB-15 (finally) at 50 yards, took it out to 100. Just as it started pouring rain. Was shooting where I wanted it to but sloppy grouping. Wasn't being productive so I called it an early day.

Range day without the sandbags has me thinking that, while the Hera CQR foregrip is cyberpunk and cool, I may be better off without it. Many decades of shooting has me naturally wanting a more traditional rifle hold.

The top rail of my SARB-15 bullpup platform with two optics. The first is a Vortex Optics Spitfire 1x Prism Scope. After that is a Monstrum Ghost G3 3X Micro Magnifier with Flip-to-Side Mount. The guidance is to have the magnifier first but this terribly distorted the reticle so I put the magnifier after the prism. In this way, the illuminated circle and dot will remain the same size whether magnified or not. I am concerned that having the magnifier after might add some distortion that affects accuracy at range. I will need to take it to the range and re-zero it and test. The alternative becomes getting a single 3x prism. How will that work for me when I'm doing CQB at close range? I'll have to test that at the range, too.
The advice is to buy optics for the 80% that you shoot. However, the 1x prism isn't good enough for my eyes to do the other 20% at range so I added a 3x magnifier. Not sure I'm liking the setup. Will need to take it to the range to evaluate.

A bullpup rifle sitting on some sandbags. The problem I had previously was that the front grip loop was sitting on top of a sandbag. In this instance, the sandbag is more wedged between the front forgrip and the trigger guard, making for a more stable platform. I also have the buttstock, in addition to being pulled into my shoulder, is also resting on a sandbag. Second range day with my #SARB-15. I used the green reticle instead of the red, used a black bull's eye target instead of the red diamond, and had a much better sandbag setup. Consistently made my groups half their previous size compared to last week.

A CGI model of a Sterling Submachinegun that has been converted into a bullpup form (the entirety of the action is behind the grip, instead of in front of it), with the folding stock removed and replaced with a bent and welded steel strip with attached pad attached to the buttcap, the sights moved forward as well, and the addition of a muzzle shroud with attached foregrip.
