TikTok's new privacy policy is a wake-up call. The platform now openly admits to collecting precise location data, along with deeply personal details about users' political and religious beliefs, gender identity, sexual orientation, immigration status, and financial information. Even more troubling: TikTok reserves the right to share this sensitive data with law enforcement and government agencies upon request. This isn't just a tech update-it's an egregious expansion of surveillance power cloaked in legalese. At a time when trust in institutions is fragile, TikTok's policy raises urgent questions: • Why does a social media app need to track your exact movements? • Why should your private beliefs and identity be catalogued for potential government use? • Where are the safeguards against abuse? Users deserve transparency, accountability, and the right to opt out of invasive data collection. Anything less is a violation of basic privacy rights.
