Streetartwall. A paste-up with Ronald McDonald and a row of rats has been stuck on a beige street wall. Ronald is the stupidly grinning McDonald's advertising character. A clown with a red wig, wearing a scary yellow and orange romper suit and red and white striped stockings and sleeves. He is also wearing huge red clown shoes. On the mural, he is holding an old wooden flute and grinning maniacally. He is being chased by a row of gray rats. Info: The mural refers to one of the most famous German legends "The Pied Piper of Hamelin", which has a grain of truth to it. Allegedly, in 1284, a charismatic stranger was asked to rid the town of rats and he did so by playing a flute. The rats willingly followed him. When he did not receive his reward, he repeated the spectacle. This time he kidnapped all the children in the town and they disappeared forever. It is also a symbol of false leaders, their behavior and the dire consequences for the followers.
