Campbell's also lies. They pulled OUT of Canada yet deceptively display a Canadian flag on their cans trying to trick Canadians into thinking they're "buying Canadian." Small type says "designed in Canada" meaning the recipe NOT the manufactured product. #BuyCanadianFirst
Yesterday, in #YYC in my local supermarket I required a vegetable for supper. The broccoli, cauliflower & brussels sprouts were all products of ๐บ๐ฒ. The ONLY ๐จ๐ฆ option was asparagus.
Guess what we had for dinner? ๐ค

Infographic from https://madeinca.ca/grocery-store-guide/ on Product of Canada versus Made in Canada. Made in Canada - A product must meet the following criteria to be considered Made in Canada: 1. The last substantial transformation of the good occurred in Canada. 2. At least 51% of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing the good have been incurred in Canada. 3. The โMade in Canadaโ representation is accompanied by an appropriate qualifying statement, such as โMade in Canada with imported partsโ or โMade in Canada with domestic and imported partsโ. This could also include more specific information such as โMade in Canada with 60% Canadian content and 40% imported contentโ. Product of Canada - For a product to be considered a Product of Canada, it must meet the following criteria: 1. The last substantial transformation of the good occurred in Canada. 2. All or virtually all (at least 98%) of the total direct costs of producing or manufacturing the good have been incurred in Canada.
Tl;dr for an easy way to tell: "*Made* in Canada" on packaging is okay, "*Product* of Canada" is gold star. #BuyCanadian #IShopCanada #BuyCanadianFirst #MadeInCanada

Well. Phew.
I just did a quick search because I will need new #running shoes later this year and panicked because I like certain shoes, luckily it turns out that Asics are a Japanese brand and my favourite sports store, Decathalon, is French owned.

Welp. That's that.
With 45/47 imposing his tantrum tariffs on Canada I have but 1 response. I'll lose followers for this but frankly I couldn't care less.
