One of the tragedies of the #CAGovDebate was throwing an extra half hour of debate on a streaming service to gin up downloads. Nice to see KRON relevant again, it’s been 25 since they lost NBC and went down a seemingly endless spiral of never ending Steve Wilkos and Dr. Phil shows.
The debate was largely substantive and focused on issues important to California voters, like the cost of housing, the gas tax and private insurers leaving the market following years of devastating wildfires. #CAGovDebate
But it’s also his personality.
That’s not to say he had a perfect debate, he didn’t. Or that he’ll make the best governor, although I think he would out of the current candidates. But not sure anyone should expect a viral moment. #CAGovDebate
So because of Trump, & even Gavin, too many voters think running for office is about “moments.”
Those worried that @xavierbecerra.bsky.social didn’t have a moment should know that’s not the kind of politician he is. He’s very detailed oriented. He has to be given his past positions. #CAGovDebate

I think Becerra did the best job and looked the most like he could be governor. Porter had a surprisingly decent answer to the bad boss question and was second overall imo. Steyer seemed kind of weak and tired tbh. Mahan was a non-entity. And the two Republicans were atrocious. #CAGovDebate

Republican men seem super blamey and champion the three point plan & maga.
Dem men are either trying to spend their way in, need to finish a mayoral term first, or continue to work hard. And Katie, who’s actually best suited for the job, OBVIOUSLY.
