A cold front will move east towards the TN Valley and North Georgia bringing with it a line of showers and storms.

There is a 1/5 severe storm threat level for most of the area WED.

The main impacts at this point look to be strong straight line winds, heavy rain, and possible small hail.

Showers and storms are beginning to enter the TN Valley. The worst of the weather should stay south of CHA. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning for 60 mph wind gusts and 1” hail is in effect for southern Jackson County, AL until 6:45 pm CT. Rain should begin to move into the metro area around 8p.

During early morning tomorrow there will be a lunar eclipse beginning at 3:44 am and lasting until moonset. If you’re wanting to view it may be a problem as clouds will be sticking around. There will be around 80 to 95% cloud cover during the eclipse.

Futurecast shows that the snow should start tapering off around noon/1:00 this pm.

It will be breezy today. Winds will be out of the N at around 15 to 20 mph. Wind chill will be in the single digits.

Be aware of ice forming on your HVAC outdoor fan motor & fan blades. Mine is icing on the collar around the housing & blades. Made a dam on ice melt pellets to drain around the collar & create more clearance. You'll know if is ice is forming because of the clicking sound when the fan spins #CHAwx
