Daytime scene on the first day of spring in a paved area behind the railing of a busy expressway in a formerly industrial City, facing toward the speeding traffic through a missing section of the railing which - as it turns out - is rather flimsy for holding up against the monstrous gas guzzlers; at the center of the scene, across the expressway, is a large nineteenth-century brick building which served a number of purposes over the years of this City's immigration and industrial history, and now serves as a public restroom for the punlic park behind it; the park is named after a historic statesman, as is the expressway itself; just beside the old building, there is a massive steam power plant; much of this part of the borough still uses steam for things and that is where it comes from; the steam plant has a tall chimney which we hope emits steam; all around the scene are more modern high-rise buildings, as well as the underside of a pedestrian walking bridge that passes overhead; the sky is overcast.
