My own talk, which is coming up / just happened, is on #Multilingual #Stylometry.

Based on our work for #CHR2024, we've moved on from the influence of language and translation on stylometric attribution accuracy to the influence of corpus composition. I'll be […]

Inspired by a great #chr2024, a reminder that the edited volume *Computational Humanities* is out! It will go OA soon with Minnesota on Manifold. More soon!

A point of consensus that emerged tacitly in #CHR2024: memorization is not creating big distortions for literary research using LLMs. Eg in paper #96, Zhang, Seminck, & Amsili conclude "overall, the degree of memorization was low." And echoed later in same panel by @dbamman.bsky.social. +

I can't remember now who it was, but someone at #CHR2024 had very nice slides that ended with a list of thank yous and explicit contributions from their co-authors. I loved this, and I want to add something similar to my slides.

Back from #chr2024 in Aarhus, Denmark to a home sans espresso beans.

Popped into the new cafe next to my parents place. Check out the name of the beans…

Thank you to the #chr2024 PC Chairs - @wouterhaverals.bsky.social @laurejt.bsky.social and Marijn Koolen - for all your work!

That's a wrap at #CHR2024! I'll need some time to reflect and regroup (and learn how to use bluesky)-- just wanted to take a moment to thank all my friends, old & new. Even on day 3, people were still approaching me with great feedback and kind words about my work. It's a community filled with love!

In conversation at #CHR2024 the question that came up often was: If we solve a problem by prompting, how do we know when we have optimized the solution? You can’t do a grid search to find optimal hyperparameters if your search space is All of Language.

Thanks, everyone, for such a fun and elightening #CHR2024! Looking forward to meeting again in Luxembourg.
