From detailed connectomes to full-body physics, they model how neural circuits generate flight & walking - bridging the gap between brain structure and behaviour.
⌚🧠 Jesse Marshall @ Meta continued #CRSy25 Day 3’s morning session with “Building generic neuromotor interfaces for human-computer interaction.”
He presented the Meta Neural Wristband - a high-bandwidth interface translating hand gestures into digital control, with scaling laws that mirror #LLMs.
🪰 Eugenia Chiappe opened the #CRSy25 afternoon session with “Active Gaze Control Enables Competitive Pursuit in Drosophila.”, revealing how male flies stabilise their gaze while chasing females - coordinating head and body movements through brain–body feedback loops to guide pursuit.
🎛️🧠 Day 2 of #CRSy25 continues with Taro Toyoizumi @ RIKEN Center for Brain Science on “Controlling neural variability”.
He showed how feedback between brain, body & environment regulates neural noise - and how the brain can even use chaos to compute probabilistically.
🚀 Day 2 of #CRSy25 kicks off with keynote speaker Adrienne Fairhall @uw-nbio.bsky.social on “Brain-wide dynamics of internal model update”.
#CRSy25 afternoon session: 👁️🧠 Ehud Ahissar @ Weizmann Institute dove deep into embodied intelligence, and explore how perception emerges from continuous brain–world loops – sensation and movement locked in feedback, making perception an active, living process.
The first poster session of the #CRSy25 was a success, filled with coffee, chats & sunshine!
#CRSy25 opening session: Juan Álvaro Gallego @champalimaudf.bsky.social explored neural manifolds, invariances & meaning, followed by Symposium co-Chair @shreyasaxena.bsky.social @wutsaiyale.bsky.social, who studies how the brain orchestrates complex, coordinated behaviour.
