#CRboxes definitely not a fire hazard when built using UL certified power module.
PC fans use such low voltage (not a concern).
Been using these for 4 years now in my classroom & home without any problems.
PC fans last a LONG time. So reliable.
#CRboxes are almost always the best at improving air changes per hour while efficiently removing PM2.5 from the air🙌
We build #CRboxes too🤣🙌
If those you live with refuse to mask, but will spray a few times a day, then they are less likely to spread COVID to you (I know this from experience).
4. #CRboxes, mechanical ventilation with MERV-13 filters, or other commerical air filtration devices help pull/trap viruses from the air.
Jan 30, 2026 PlusLife COVID test for me was negative. 99% accurate. No sign of COVID infection
Well, still no new COVID infection since Aug 2023. My layers of protection are working to prevent new airborne COVID spread/infection.
Q100 respirator
Iota-carrageenan nasal spray
Viraleze nasal spray
Betadine throat spray
#CRboxes
#AvoidCrowdedIndoorSpacesWhenPossible
#NOCOVIDSPREADHERE
I am one of the few who still wear a respirator every day at school, so I layer.
I have to.
Windows and doors open, iota carrageenan nasal spray & Viraleze, #CRboxes on every desk, educate kids about AQI & how respirators help. Some kids mask, many don't.
Always worth trying to help🙏
All of the #CRboxes are still working perfectly🙌🙌
Moving one of them back to where it is needed most, in my classroom to help prevent close-contact airborne pathogen spread👍
Some HEPA units that filter classroom air are loud, but SO necessary to clean the air to help prevent airborne pathogen spread.
We turned this issue into a class project building PC fan #CRboxes to help filter the air in our classrooms.
Students need to learn how to measure air quality & clean it🙌
I've been exposed to flu and COVID daily at work, but my super powers are keeping me healthy👍
Never remove my Q100 in the school, use nasal sprays before and after entry, avoid large crowds whenever possible, always run #CRboxes in my classroom, doors/windows open.
I agree.
I should have clearly described all layers of protection.
-Vaccination
-N95 masking
-Iota-carrageenan nasal spray
-Opening windows and doors
Using #CRboxes and/or HEPA units
-avoiding crowded indoor places
-staying home if sick
-covering coughs/sneezes
All layers help
🙏
Completely agree!
They must include direction about use of #CRboxes and HEPA units too.
Filtration devices like N95 masks, #CRboxes, & HEPA units are definitely a necessary layer of protection required in all indoor spaces.
Our filtration system is removing 98% of PM2.5 air particulate including any airborne pathogens.
CO2 is lingering in the room too much because the ppm is too high. Should be closer to 700ppm to help reduce close contact spread of airborne pathogens in classrooms. School boards must open their centrally controlled dampers MORE to let in more fresh air. We can't open them locally anymore😓
Classroom air quality with doors and windows all open.
Mechanical ventilation/filtration along with desktop #CRboxes running all day.
PM2.5 removal is 98% (outdoor air quality in Brampton, ON is currently poor.
CO2 ppm sitting just under 1000ppm (not good enough).
More fresh air needed.
PM2.5=0
CO2 ppm is 780
If my classroom (with PM2.5=0 all day and desktop #CRboxes spread throughout) has 10 students sick, then imagine how bad things are in all other classrooms/schools throughout Ontario.
Our children DO NOT need to get sick to get stronger.
PREVENTING illness with N95s maintains a healthy immune system
So true.
We are finding some success using our tabletop #CRboxes to help prevent close-contact airborne pathogen (e.g. COVID) spread.
WE also keep windows and doors open at all times too.
Thank goodness for @donatemask.bsky.social who provide our students with free KN95s/N95s🙌🙌
Adding to this CO2 monitoring tech, the perfect venue would include whisper-quiet PC fan #CRboxes spread throughout the facility because the MERV-8s will do virtually nothing to remove PM2.5s from the indoor air.
Here is a great DIY #CRbox
youtu.be/Ird0-orsSGM?...
Looking at last year's class data compared to this year's absenteeism there has been about a 30% reduction in absences.
Why?
Cleaner indoor air, more informed children willing to act to help clean their air (wear N95s), more tabletop #CRboxes.
What could boards do to help? Reduce class sizes...
For the record, I still have not been re-infected with COVID since 2023 because I always wear my Q100 in all public indoor spaces & have installed #CRboxes in almost every room I live/work in (of course windows/doors open too).
Thankful for all of the expert advice/instruction from others here🙏
Individual classes were reporting 20% of all absences for the entire grade for the month of Sept (evident spread in those groups)
Compared to those classes, my class had a 3x reduced # of absences. Why?
Many kids in my class wear @donatemask.bsky.social free N95s, #CRboxes, open windows/door
I've been reviewing attendance statistics re: student illness for September.
There was a confirmed case of COVID reported in my classroom (never disclosed to me - I had to look it up myself😓).
Even with a +ve case in my classroom, our free N95s & desktop #CRboxes prevented rampant spread...
You don't have to hurt yourself with repeated COVID infection.
So many colleagues, friends & acquaintances reporting new COVID infections.
Here is my response:
Continue using HEPA or #CRboxes

My desktop #CRboxes are helping to reduce airborne pathogen close-contact spread, but not perfectly.
The only way we can dramatically reduce COVID spread in classrooms is for students to mask in class(and on school buses) for the majority of the day.
We have a few in my class home sick (all week)
Just learned one of our gr6 classes has 8 kids away, amd another gr6 class had 3 kids go home early today.
COVID spreading in schools stil.
#MaskUp
#CRboxes
Agreed.
I can't stomach the thought that children get sick in schools as I stand idly by and watch, which is why I continue to build in-class #CRboxes and share @donatemask.bsky.social free N95s with students.
Its sickening watching others do nothing😓
CR boxes on our desks to help reduce close contact airborne pathogen spread.
Simple lesson today.
How many L of H20 does the avg person drink per day?
2 L
How many L of air does the average person breathe in each day?
11 000 L
So, why do we actively clean the water we drink, but not the air we breathe?
Kids minds were 🤯
They immediately understood the value of our #CRboxes 🙏
Amazing how ignorant the doctor is who was interviewed in this report.
COVID is predominantly AIRBORNE SPREAD, so HAND WASHING WILL NOT HELP.
Ways to prevent repeated COVID infection:
1. Get vaccinated with updated vaccine.
2. Wear a well-fitting N95
3. Run #CRboxes or HEPAS
4. Open windows/doors
PM2.5 reading 0
CO2 ppm reading of 423
9 desktop CR boxes installed throughout classroom to help prevent close-contact spread of airborne pathogens, like COVID-19
Close contact COVID spread will now be even more difficult in our classroom thanks to these awesome #CRboxes 🙌🙌
Students will design and make some of their own this year too (either for their desks or for use at home).
Wish PM2.5 & CO2 readings could always be this good in my classroom.
Well, finished one with the 3 PC fan airplate and it does a great job moving air!
Will glue the second one tomorrow if time.
Good coverage with current #CRboxes already for first day of school next week🙌
Part of the first term will involve the grade 6 students designing, building, and testing their own desktop #CRboxes too🙌🙌
When children build their own #CRboxes they can use a small garden chamber as an air chamber to measure how well #CRboxes remove tiny dangerous things from the air. We call those tiny dangerous things PM2.5
Experiments in science class are perfect here (qualitative and quantitative data gathering)
