Thank you. Dogs are truly magical creatures. I lost my beloved #Cali_the_Mali in January and Chevy has definitely helped heal my heart.

I still can't bear to open the sack containing #Cali_the_Mali 's ashes or foot & nose print. I guess everyone deals differently.

I have had a Malinois in my home since 1985. Many other breeds too but ALWAYS a Belgian. I used to lament never having any alone time in the bathroom. 40 years & no privacy. Since #Cali_the_Mali passed Jan 3rd, I told my hubs I would give anything for 1 more day of bathroom invasion 💔😢
It's so hard. My #Cali_the_Mali passed Jan 3rd and the hubs keeps showing me pictures of dogs needing rescue, but my heart is still broken.

All 6 of my big dogs from 5 years ago have passed, #Cali_the_Mali being the last one this Jan 3rd. It's the first time in 40 years I haven't had a Malinois on the property, nor is there a Shepherd. 💔

My husband ordered me a tree to plant in honor of my #Cali_the_Mali who passed Jan 3rd. It's stunning & has heart shaped leaves.❤️ It's called a Flamethrower Redbud tree.
This is a new tradition for us. I think it will be healing.

#Cali_the_Mali came into my life in April of 2016. Her birthday is the same day as Sean & my Wedding Anniversary. It was fate. I got her from Dianne SanLorenzo in Florida. She has her CGC & FR I. She dabbled in PSA, Mondio, Herding (disastrously but we dabbled). She loved Dock Diving and eventually became my Service Dog. She loved her green ball and wouldn't stop searching until she found it. She learned some drug odors as well as cadaver too but we never pursued that. She used her nose as my Diabetic Service Dog but more importantly she was truly my emotional support as I was hers.
Cali and I had 8 1/2 amazing years. She was my constant companion, going everywhere with me. She tolerated our rescues and rehomes, she taught my adopted retired Police K9's how to be dogs, how to play, how to tolerate being part of a pack. She mentored and "Auntied" countless puppies from friends litters. Most importantly she loved me wholeheartedly and unconditionally. I can't begin to put into words what she meant to me or how wrecked and completely heartbroken I am. Just know that other than my husband, she's been my everything. I lost a treasured friend today The beautiful dog who used to lay Her gentle head upon my knee And share her silent thoughts with me. She'll come no longer to my call Retrieve no more her favorite green ball A voice far greater than my own Has called her to His golden throne. Although my eyes are filled with tears I thank Him for these happy years He let her spend down here with me And for her love and loyalty When it is time for me to go And join her there, this much I know I shall not fear the transient dark For she will greet me with a bark #Cali_the_Mali gone today but never forgotten.

My beautiful, amazing #Cali_the_Mali. She's 12 years old & fading quickly due to injuries sustained when she was 5 years old💔😢 But today, today was a good day.❤️ The vet had me add an extra Gabapentin to her pain management, and she seemed more relaxed.
OK, where to start. #NovaThePom was up all last night vomiting & diarrhea. Rush to vet this AM, no parvo probably still the giardia she came with. She got IV fluids, meds & sent home to rest. I get home, put #Cali_the_Mali out to potty then hear knock on front door. See neighbor holding my dog 🤔🤯
