Native crops want to grow where we are. Tell me where you are and I will reply with native staple crops that can sustain us sustainably. Where I live in Central Europe, a native staple mix is:

Carbs & Protein: Wheat, rye, buckwheat, oats, peas, faba
#Fats: #Cameline (low heat), canola (higher heat)
