Equilibrium Brewery & Great Notion Team Up For MC3PO IPA Today I have a new Star Wars-themed collaboration can coming from Equilibrium Brewery in Middletown, NY. This is **MC3PO** and it will be a collaboration with Great Notion Brewing. The beer will be an IPA that will droid in at 6.7%-AbV and it will be package din these 16oz cans. Stay tuned for release details. zzubreebym ##### About Equilibrium Brewing: _Once upon a time in an Environmental Engineering Lab about 3 hrs away… Equilibrium began at MIT with a desire to make clean water for people in need at such places like_ _Haiti_ _,__Bangladesh_ _,__Vietnam_ _,__USA_ _, and many others. At MIT, we learned to master concentrations of stuff in water (to put it simply). In these early applications, we used this mastery of water science to take bad stuff out of water._ __ _While this was happening, we were falling in love with craft beer, the craft beer community, the craft beer experience, and the bonds and memories that craft beer creates. We realized that craft beer was really in the business of experience and community. To put a twist on an old saying, we believe the right craft beer turns ordinary moments into extraordinary experiences. It’s true… Beer has the power to bring people together. We then realized beer is also concentrations of stuff in water… and given our training we’re really good at that. So… we decided that we wanted to try and create some of the best beer in the world through science, and with this beer we would create memorable experiences and community._ _Our new passion led us to run our watery mastery in reverse and put delicious stuff into water: Beer! Our first batches were created in co-founder Pete Oates’s house… with less than state-of-the-art equipment (yes that’s a shower head; and no this stove did not survive the years of recipe development)._ __ _We realized the styles of beer we liked to drink had Massive Intense Tastes (yes… we’re very clever) but also had round flavor profiles without edges and were easy to drink. So, the question became, how do you achieve the right balance between these concepts? Equilibrium!_ _In 2009 we decided to open a brewery. We went heavy on the_** _science_** _and still continue to do so as beer is incredibly complex. We were brewing 6 batches a day to get the right distribution of compounds in the glass which triggers the cascade of “wow this is really good” which then brings people together and creates memorable experiences._ _In 2015 we purchased Henry Street in Middletown NY, which became our base of operations:_ __ _We honed our techniques here until we were ready to share our beer with the world. On 2/4/17 we had our first Bottle Release of There and Back Again aged on Apricots and Peaches:_ __ _We had our first can sale on 6/9/17 releasing two of our core beers Photon and MC2:_ __ _Our typical Saturday release became a gathering point where people would bring incredible beers from across the world that they would generously share with like-minded people. This was and continues to be an incredible point in our timeline because the shared love of beer and comradery around release days spawns into its own community and a culture that cultivated bonds that will last forever._ __ __ __ _We quickly outgrew our “rustic” taproom on the second floor of Henry Street and when the opportunity presented itself to create an incredible taproom, beer garden, BBQ program, and a better retail experience a few blocks over. We acquired the old TD Ameritrade Bank at 4 South Street in March of 2019._ __ _After record pace construction, we were able to open this beautiful facility in December 2019_ ________ _And it was a pleasure to welcome everyone to our new home!_ __ _Our story is very much being written. We have done our best to navigate Covid but we’re happy to say we’re finally back open! You can often find us hanging out in the taproom drinking beers and sharing stories. If you see us, please stop by and say hello and since you know our story, tell us yours!_ ### About MyBeer Buzz Founder, owner, author, graphic designer, CEO, CFO, webmaster, president, mechanic and janitor for mybeerbuzz.com. Blooms golden lemon hues reflect the shared passion for innovation, delivering pure, juicy flavor with a crisp, refreshing finish—no fruit, just hop artistry among friends.”

About Brewery Ommegang:

A Tradition Born in 1549

Holy Roman Emperor King Charles V visited medieval Brussels in 1549 with hundreds from his Royal Court. To welcome the King, merchants, vendors, cooks, brewers, musicians, theater troupes, dancers and more lined up around the city walls and joined in a celebration as his entourage passed by. That parade became known as the “Ommegang,” a word that variously means “coming together” and “walking about.” The Brussels Ommegang Festival continues to this day.

The First Farmhouse Brewery in America in 100+ Years

Belgian breweries Duvel Moortgat, Affligem, and Scaldis join with importers/entrepreneurs Don Feinberg and Wendy Littlefield to build an authentic Belgian-style farmstead brewery in Cooperstown, NY. They locate this cultural transplant on an old 140-acre hop farm in the Susquehanna River valley, in a part of upstate New York once known as Nova Belgium.

Our First Beers

We open in winter with Ommegang Abbey Dubbel, an 8.5% ABV traditional Trappist-style dark ale. Brewed with a complex array of spices and packaged in 750ml bottles, Abbey breaks the mold of the emerging American craft beer scene.

Our Portfolio (and Reputation) Grow

We expand our offerings with Hennepin Farmhouse Saison, Rare Vos Amber, and 12oz bottles. High-end culinary magazines and restaurants across the US take notice.

Ponder the Profound

Responding to a fan’s fantasy of “the perfect beer,” we introduce Three Philosophers, a Belgian-style quadrupel ale. A touch of Belgian kriek – a cherry beer – makes it distinctive, and offers a delicate note of dark fruit.

About Talea Beer:

(pronounced tah-lay-uh)

Both avid homebrewers with MBAs, LeAnn and Tara met after leaving their corporate jobs in tech and media to join the beer industry. Working together on a daily basis, their passions quickly aligned and they realized a shared vision: to create a totally different beer company that would expand the craft beer market.

After years of browsing beer aisles and visiting breweries, they found that despite the booming craft beer market, no breweries were actively trying to speak to customers like them. From confusing packaging and bearded bros with attitudes to dark, industrial taprooms, the male-dominated industry was lacking an approachable, inclusive perspective and voice.

Tara and LeAnn knew there was an opportunity to speak to a broader audience and launched TALEA, creating "easy-drinking beers, perhaps to replace that glass of rosé" (Florence Fabricant, The New York Times). TALEA's beers are at the intersection of high quality and low-bitterness with fruit-forward flavors; beers that you can comfortably share with your hard-seltzer and wine-drinking friends, or open with the most discerning beer connoisseur.

TALEA's flagship brewery and taproom opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in March 2021! They now have 3 additional taprooms open: Cobble Hill, West Village, and Bryant Park. All are bright, colorful, and design-forward created with the help of female architects. Beyond the taprooms, TALEA beers can be found in 1,000+ retailers, bars, and restaurants across NY State.

About MyBeer Buzz

Founder, owner, author, graphic designer, CEO, CFO, webmaster, president, mechanic and janitor for mybeerbuzz.com.
