In the end, the real problem was firing Paulo Maldini. It was shortsighted, lacked strategy and disrespectful.

One & half years since that sacking, Milan has resumed struggling again. The hashtag #RerBirdOut #CardinaleOut should have informed them they made a mistake but they stuck to their guns.

They lacked fluidity and assurance in the final third.
Amorin has had less than 7 games but his ideas have clicked at United. Fonseca has had 20+ games and Milan is still struggling to be definitive.
