A picture of Alice smiling to camera Image text: Meet the team
Image text: I'm a Senior Trusts and Foundations Officer at Settle, which means I help raise the money that we need to support young people. As we are a charity, we're always fundraising to keep our work going, so I spend most of my time writing about Settle, telling people about the need for our work and how we can make a difference. Before starting this role in April, I was a Senior Settle Coach for over 3 years! I absolutely loved it. I got to know so many amazing young people and it was such a privilege to see each person achieve things they never thought they could. This new role is great, because it gives me the opportunity to help more young people experience Settle's life changing support.
Image Text: I worked at a charity that supported charity CEOs who had lived experience of the problem they were trying to solve. Our aim was to make sure that they were given personalised support to give them the best chance at making a difference, so I worked closely with each person to understand what they needed, like support with their finances or wellbeing - kind of like a Settle Coach!
Image text: I had always wanted to work in a frontline role. I love meeting lots of different people and making sure people feel seen and heard is incredibly important to me - especially if they've been disempowered. I wanted to work somewhere that helped people to believe in themselves and see that other people believe in them. I started to learn more about the care system in my previous job, where I worked with someone who was building trauma-informed children's homes in the UK. The more I learned about what young people's experience can be like in the care system, the more I wanted to play a part in helping those young people experience meaningful care and support.

Graphic highlighting a new blog on the Enquire pages. The image is split into white for the bottom half and a rosy pink for the top half. On top sits an image. The image features colooured geometric shapes creating a rectangle. A dotted line winds it's way from a house shape in the bottom right of the rectangular shape up to a pale pink shape in the top right hand corner, indicative of a school. The image includes the Navigate logo - a heart shape made from a map pin and its shadow. Writing reads New blog care experience + education.
A quote from the Navigating care experience and education blog reads "Removing barriers to learning takes more than one service or one organisation's efforts. Navigate is rooted in a whole-community approach, highlighting existing resources and working alongside partner organisation." A photo accompanies the quote featuring a young man with dark hair wearing a navy blue top, smiling at the camera. He is identified as Robert Doyle, Digital Content Officer with Enquire who is author of the blog.

An image with a pinkish white frame. At the centre of the frame is a bright pink illustration. At the top of this is white text that reads ‘care experience + education’. Below this is a white cloud, a yellow sun, a tree with a yellow stem and a round green top. On the right of the illustration is a stepped triangle shaped block. There is also a looping dotted line across the illustration that represents a journey. At the bottom of the frame the Navigate logo is on the left hand side, which consists of the word ‘navigate’ with a map pin above the ‘i’. The map pin has a shadow that, combined, creates the shape of a heart – a nod to The Promise logo. To the right of the Navigate logo, black text reads ‘explore the resources at enquire.org.uk/navigate’. Below this is the Enquire logo, which consists of the word ‘ENQUIRE’ in black with the ‘Q’ being a purple question mark.

You might be wondering why reporting ethnicity is important. Without knowing the ethnicity of the children living in care who take part in research it's really hard to know how much our learning applies to all children in care - or just some groups.
