I describe Monsters & Myths as a 'zero-math' tabletop RPG. Low-math doesn't roll off the tongue the same. Yet as I compile the glossary for 2E I'm struck by how pesky math is. Walking the line between narrative & tactical is hard.

With Monsters & Myths there are 4 Domains, 21 Traits, 189 Skills, & 18 Career Archetypes. Even if you stuck with the Marksman Career you could have a Technology/Mysticism Marksman that fires satellite guided cursed bullets from 3 zones away.

In MM1E there were 15 Career Archetypes, in 2E I added 3 more. They're categorised by game play activity: Violence, Utility, & Support. Marksman: Bio-sniper (enhanced senses) vs Tech-sniper (targeting AI) vs Mystic-sniper (fate bullets) etc.

When I play RPGs I tend to multiclass because I want options. This influenced how I designed the system. Because you can choose your Domains, Traits, and Skills you can customise your Career Archetype to match how you want to play.

Monsters & Myths doesn't have classes. Instead I went with something called Career Archetypes. These are jobs/professions. Your choices make them mechanically distinct, depending on your Domain | Traits | Skills.
