I’ve listened to both #NakedSun & #CavesOfSteel, by Asimov. I believe that since the main character is a NYC detective from the future, his sci-fi is more accessible to folks.
Also, since these novels were written in the 1950s, there is a simplicity bec we knew less about other space worlds then.

Every reveal from Apple's #Foundation piques me less and less. I try to find room & recall that Asimov's writing was sparse and invite readers' creativity.
But I would not make any of the choices they are?

If I had a nickel for every time there was a moody old detective assigned to work with an android that threatens to take over his job, but then he uncovers the humanity in their heart after hardship, & they become /close/ friends—I’d have 2 nickels😆
