CAUGHT IN CROSS FIRE "BISHOP" Ceirion Dewar was one of the religious figures who spoke at the sparsely attended far-right carol service touted by agitator Tommy Robinson this month. He also appeared prominently in Robinson's "Putting Christ Back into Christmas" video and has led prayers at previous rallies. Dewar, who describes himself as a "missionary bishop in the Confessing Anglican Church" - a tiny splinter group based in Huntsville, Tennessee - is not a bishop in any recognisable British denomination and doesn't lead a church or a diocese. But he has a stentorian voice, and has bought himself all the gear. He modestly says on his LinkedIn profile that he is "renowned for his psychological / philosophical intellectual approach that he delivers in an intensely direct oratorical style, aimed at stimulating the intellect of people on all levels of life". He is renowned for other things too. In 2012 he made local headlines in the Welsh village of Solva when he was sued by his 89-year-old neighbour who had loaned him ยฃ1,000 to pay a fine after he was involved in a car accident. She had to go to court to get the money returned. Ah, the true spirit of Christmas!
