This lesson starts with some practice with blending sticks/tortillons and making different patterns. I didn't quite get to the quality of the examples. Looking forward to combining these tomorrow!

Art Study of Lesson One, from Drawing is for Everyone. First is a column of #2 Pencil, using additive layers. Second is a column with mechanical pencil, using layers. Third is an attempt to use a value scale, but it alternates.
Lesson One: The Touch of a Feather
The lesson normally calls for a variety of artist pencils, but I've always just used a mechanical pencil and a #2. So I modified the lesson a bit but I felt I followed the spirit of the intent!
