A police official in Imphal said that windshields of three police vehicles were damaged in the attack that took place late on Wednesday when the police were conducting an operation in the hill areas.

मणिपूरच्या चांदेल जिल्ह्यात इंडो-म्यानमार सीमेच्या जवळ आसम रायफल्सच्या युनिटने गुरूवारी (15 मे) अतिरेक्यांविरुद्ध मोठं ऑपरेशन राबवलं. सुरक्षा दलांनी मिळालेल्या विशिष्ट माहितीच्या आधारे ही कारवाई सुरू केली. अतिरेक्यांनी सैन्यावर गोळीबार केला, ज्याला प्रत्युत्तर देताना सुरक्षा दलांनी 10 अतिरेक्यांना ठार केलं.
