This photo of Stonehenge looks like it was taken after sunset, silhouettes of the stones against a dark-blue sky. On the low horizon one can make out the shapes of the tall sarsen stones in a ring, some topped in pairs by lintels.
From some distance away, looking across rooftops, this is a gothic cathedral seen from the apse forward. At the front are two all towers, and flying buttresses are visible all around the nave, particularly evident at the read as they bend around the apse. The roof is light green, the color of the weathered copper used to cover it.
These are photos I've taken of two of the most famous things made of #Stone: #Stonehenge, and #ChartresCathedral.
These are significant to me because I took them with the first "real" camera I ever bought: an SLR to take on a post-high-school trip to Europe.
