a collage of pictures from my breast cancer journey. top left my first infusion and I still had my hair, in the middle is a view of the infusion room at the cancer center and top right getting ready for my lumpectomy. bottom left the dreaded “zapper” as I called the radiation machine. the middle shows the oral chemo pills I had to take after chemo and radiation and bottom right when I rang the bell after completing all of my treatment. one of the technicians held the bell for me, since it wasn’t put up yet. it’s been a long, difficult road.
Five years ago today I got the call nobody wants to get: “You have cancer”! And just like that my whole life changed. Two years of biopsies, chemo, lumpectomy, radiation and more chemo, transfusions, scans, but here I am, a survivor and life is good. 💪
