A snapping turtle just under the top of the water. It is swimming left to right. The shell looks green under the water. The head and tail appear brown. Its front legs are spread out to the side as it swims.

OTD in '22: ~latest in the year that we've detected a large snapper (by timelapse). We've seen some smaller turtles later in Oct, but no big dinos.

A common snapping turtle in the grass. The turtle is moving from right to left in the photo. Its body and shell both appear to be black, with a hint of white just under the chin and on the inside of its legs. Its front legs are bent back as it appears to be walking. The head is pointed with the small nose at the end. The tail is long and pointed and extends out to the far right side of the photo's frame. It is walking on grass and behind it are lots of small rocks which it has just passed.

Today I was lucky enough to meet this beautiful Lady. I think she was on her way to lay her eggs. She was gracious enough to allow a few pics,and then she went on her way. I absolutely LOVE turtles!! (One of my tattoos is sea turtles.) 🐢
