Favorite thing about the child neurology program? I am excited to see the future impact the residency program will have on the community at large. The program launch has been a large team effort and will have lasting impact for years.

If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing? Oh man! I might be a teacher. I love to learn, pass on knowledge, and help people succeed.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? Hang with the family, go to a sporting event or live music, chill with a good book under a comfy blanket with a warm drink.

Advice for someone entering residency: This is the time to keep an open mind and explore. I started my residency thinking I would be a cognitive child neurologist, and by the time I was finished I landed at the other end of the nervous system.

Why did you pick Minnesota? There is a drive to make a difference here that is very inspiring.

Advice for someone entering residency? Understanding neurology is a lifelong process. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to know it all from the beginning and try to learn something from the process.

Favorite thing to do on a day off? Other than spend time with my family, I enjoy adding to my list of hobbies to see if I can teach an old dog new tricks.

Why UMN Child Neuro? I heard many wonderful things about Minneapolis and the child neurology faculty. My interview solidified my interest in being a part of the UMN child neuro team.

What are you most looking forward to about residency? The growth! I’m excited to continue developing into the best doctor and person that I can be with the guidance of incredible colleagues and mentors at UMN. 

What are some of your hobbies? I love finding new coffee shops, exploring museums, reading anything sci-fi, and attempting to recreate my grandmother’s old recipes.

What are your favorite hobbies? Running along the river and lakes in the city, reading fantasy books, hopping around to farmer‘s markets and thrift stores, and trying as many new restaurants as I can.
