Q&A with Dr. Carlson. Why UMN Child Neuro? I heard many wonderful things about Minneapolis and the child neurology faculty. My interview solidified my interest in being a part of the UMN child neuro team. What are you most looking forward to about residency? The growth! I’m excited to continue developing into the best doctor and person that I can be with the guidance of incredible colleagues and mentors at UMN. What are some of your hobbies? I love finding new coffee shops, exploring museums, reading anything sci-fi, and attempting to recreate my grandmother’s old recipes.

Q&A with Dr. Samson. Why UMN Child Neuro? As a UMN med student, I felt incredibly supported by all of the child neurology faculty. I really value the breath of exposure I’ll get from our 4 major clinical sites. Lastly, I love living in Minneapolis! What are you most looking forward to about residency? I’m thrilled to do what I came into medicine for - care for kids and their amazing families! I’m also excited to get to know my co-residents and be surrounded by people who love to learn. What are your favorite hobbies? Running along the river and lakes in the city, reading fantasy books, hopping around to farmer‘s markets and thrift stores, and trying as many new restaurants as I can.
