The new box arcade planted as wings either side of the old Orangery behind the Ha Ha at #ChiswickHouse looks like it is coming along well. The arches remind me of the effect shown in a painting of the central avenue of Pieter Rysbrack’s patte d’oie where both hedges meet in the centre as an arch.

I’m looking forward to giving a guided tour of #ChiswickHouse to the Twickenham Museum volunteers at the end of this month. Chiswick House and Gardens will always remain my favourite historic house and park in Britain. My nostalgic memories for it are strong, burned into my soul you could say :-)
