Chops Top 3 films seen in 2023 #Chops2023 #Films2023 1. Broker (Koreeda) 2. Enys Men (Jenkin) 3. Bank of Dave (Foggin) I didn’t watch many films at all this year. 30 in total and only two of those in a cinema. Both technically came out in 2022 but I think count as new films as they’d not be on general UK circulation until this year. 🔺Broker (Curzon, Richmond) - Heartwarming tale about two baby brokers attempting to sell an abandoned baby to parents not able to meet adoption rules. Initial sense the various characters are doing something wrong fade as their motivations become clear. 🔺Enys Men (The Light, Addlestone) - Eerie film with sparse dialogue that plays with timelines in a way that disorientated me a little but left a lasting impression. 🔹Bank of Dave (Netflix) - A feel good movie based on a true story. A rom com that avoids the normal pitfalls of the genre. Must try harder next year.
