#ChristmasTreeLane countdown and tree lighting last night in Altadena, California.

After a year that’s been so so hard, the return to a beloved small town tradition felt so good. Felt so normal – we do this every year! And was resonant with so much deeper meaning, too.

#Altadena looks more intact than The Militant thought, and the 140 year-old deodar cedar tress of #ChristmasTreeLane still stand proud, but the presence of empty lots are a grim reminder of what happened on January 7.

The #ChristmasTreeLane lighting ceremony is tomorrow night in Altadena. I wouldn’t miss it for anything and I’m already weepy.
