One favourite bit when working in #HighwayMaintenance for 20+ yrs (with no #CivEng qualifications) was ‘inventing’ recipes for concrete/bituminous materials for specific jobs.
e.g. aggregate min/max sizes, % of grano dust, binder specs, etc. 😎
