But, the unknowing bhaalspawn couldn't keep them bottled, they kept spilling out and if he didn't give in to them, he blacked out and gave in anyway. He was concerned he might harm his loving parents some day, so he moved. They visit every weekend and he visits them every Wednesday. Mallus and Justice taught Clarke that he was special, better than everyone else, and that anyone who thought ill of him wasn't worth the air they breathed. Of course, he took this literally, locking anyone who slighted him in his basement and torturing them for days on end (the torture usually amount to him talking about himself for hours and hours and… you get the idea). If it weren't for that, we'd be able to classify him as a himbo, but alas. Clarke's class is artificer.

Clarke Tavitha became pregnant with Clarke and did not think their father would be happy that they had gotten pregnant by a Banite, so to mitigate, they decided to carry the child to term and then sacrifice it to Bhaal to show that they had not strayed from the path (delusional lmao). Clarke was borne and Gortash, thinking he may be able to use the child later, stole it away to an orphanage, telling Tavitha that the child died in the night while they slept. No one but Gortash knows of Clarke's existence, and the kids (as adults ofc) don't find out that they're related until the coronation.
