3 jars of pickled multicoloured carrots Turmeric was included in the spice mix so the colour of the liquid is slightly orange. Spices used in this case were: Black peppercorns Coriander seeds Cloves Cumin seeds Bay leaves Turmeric Sliced garlic I would have added mustard seeds if I had any. I prefer not to add dried chillies to my spice mix although lots of people do. Some recipes suggest also adding pieces of mace but I'm not buying a whole jar just to use a couple of pieces in this.
