Debris from the ruins of the last 50 feet or so of the Santa Cruz municipal wharf floats in the ocean. There is a skid steer on part of the debris and a construction worker, who fortunately was rescued quickly
So this was bananas. Big swells took out the end of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf while construction workers were fixing damage from last winter’s storms. The City Manager said no matter how hard they plan for the effects of climate change, they’re always behind the curve. #climatechangeisnow

When I started studying climate change, we did not expect to see the effects this quickly. We thought we had time to change. We did nothing, and GHG emissions grew faster than expected. Today we see the effects around us.

Und natürlich wird bei so einer Nachricht ein Bild von fröhlichen Menschen beim rumplantschen gewählt.
Wenn unsere Enkel uns irgendwann mal fragen was wir gegen den Klimawandel gemacht haben können wir immerhin sagen wir haben "beruhigende" Bilder für die Nachrichten gewählt.
