Three teens shot on Easter morning in troubled Clinton Township apartment complex Three male teens were shot Easter Sunday morning in an apparent robbery attempt in a troubled Clinton Township housing complex, according to police and residents. Witnesses said a volley of gunfire broke out about 9 a.m. in Clemens Court Apartments, located in the 24000 block of Trillium Court, near Joy Boulevard and Gratiot Avenue. Police said one victim was struck in the leg, while a second had an ear wound and the third had a graze to his arm. The suspects were described as three males, between 16 and 20 years old, wearing hoodies. They were last seen fleeing east from the complex. Simona Thacker, grandmother of two of the victims, said a dispute has been festering for several days over a teen suspected of selling marijuana to minors in the complex. “They claim my grandson shot someone, but how can he do that if [he] ain’t got no gun,” Thacker told reporters. “Now somebody over there has a gun and they shot my grandkids.” Thacker said friends loaded two of the victims into a car and rushed them to a hospital. She said her grandchildren are expected to make a full recovery. It wasn’t immediately clear how the third victim arrived at the hospital. According to police, no arrests had been made as of Sunday afternoon. The matter is still being actively investigated, officers said. The federally subsidized Clemens Court Apartment complex has been the site of numerous incidents in the past, including shootings, robberies, and illegal drug dealing, according to past Macomb Daily coverage of the facility.
