Gluey, was the first word that came to Tifa's mind. Somewhat like concrete. An image swam to mind. Cloud and Barret, both looking a bit rough around the edges. A bucket between them. It was Cloud's turn to mix, and sweat dotted his forehead. Consistency's all wrong, Barret barked. I told you, not enough water and too much- Cloud throwing up his hands. You do it then! Their bickering was cut off by Marlene, so much smaller then. Dirty, like they all were from sleeping rough. Can I try? Her thin arms stood no chance. But she so wanted to help build their new home, the yet-to-be-named, brand new Seventh Heaven. At first, Marlene tried on her own, both hands on . the stick, and her tongue poking out from between her teeth. It did not budge. Cloud stood behind her, placing his hands above and below Marlene's. Slowly, together, they began to mix it. Barret's arm landed heavy around Tifa's shoulders as he came up next to her. He had a smile on his face, and had also caught Tifa smiling. Cloud really needed some extra muscle, huh? Tifa said. Barret laughed. We all need a hand from time to time. Some help, he said. That's what family's for, I guess.
