Coalition Publica Student Journal Grants & Presentation
Host:
Jeanette Heatherill (Coalition Publica)
Description:
This session will present a unique funding opportunity for Canadian student editors. Two grants are offered each year by Coalition Publica to undergraduate or graduate students at Canadian higher education institutions who are involved in student-run journals. The grants are designed to assist student editors with specific projects that will benefit their journals and help develop their publishing skills. Come hear about ambitious projects and outcomes from last year’s recipients, discussed by editors of The iJournal (University of Toronto) and Spectrum (University of Alberta), and ask questions about this year’s grants with Coalition Publica staff.
Presentations from Past Grant Holders:
"Connecting in Stereo: Podcasting as a Medium for Knowledge Translation, Scholarly Communication, and Building Community around Student Journals"
Jack O'Grady, Gabbi Van Looyen, and Kannan Gnanasegaram (The iJournal)
"The 7-Squared Approach: A Framework to Strengthen Undergraduate Manuscripts"
Valerie Sytnik and Kevin Ding (Spectrum)
🌱 Thank you to #CoalitionPublica (@erudit.org + @pkp.sfu.ca) for supporting the next generation of researchers with Student Editor Grants! And thanks to past winners at iJournal and Spectrum for presenting their grant enabled work.
