Woman, 62, dies in Commerce Township house fire One woman was killed in a house fire Friday morning in Commerce Township. Firefighters responded to the 4000 block of Kara Court at about 10 a.m. Friday, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. A 911 caller reported a house there was on fire with one person trapped in an upstairs bedroom. Crews were able to extinguish the blaze and found the victim, a 62-year-old woman. She was transported to Huron Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Authorities said no one else was hurt in the incident. The fire appeared to be accidental, according to an initial probe by detectives from the sheriff's Fire Investigation Unit, though the incident remains under investigation.
