Purple speech bubble with a quote from a carer Maryam, who attends one of our Community Caring Centres in Bangladesh which reads: "I always thought I was just a mother, that all the responsibilities were mine alone. But after coming here, my husband also cares a lot now which wasn’t the case before. This happened after coming to the centre."
We were recently featured on the #BBCWorldService programme #PeopleFixingTheWorld where some of the women we support shared their experiences and spoke about the importance of having access to our #CommunityCaringCentres 👇🏽
Our #CommunityCaringCentres offer this kind of space for children with disabilities, who would otherwise not have access to one.
Schools & other community services are often unable to meet their needs, making our centres one of the only places they can go as a vital source of support.

🧡 Respite & Short Breaks - Giving carers time to rest and recharge, with reliable care alternatives such as our #CommunityCaringCentres
Day 3 of #CarersWeek is all about 'Work and Employment'.
We support #UnpaidCarers to:
💜 Start work that fits with their caring role
🧡 Receive self-managed revolving loan funds run by their #CarersGroups
💜 Access #CommunityCaringCentres where their loved ones can be cared for when needed
Image of a woman and a young girl are sitting outdoors under a tree and the girl is helping the woman fix her hair. Towards the bottom left corner there is purple box with text highlighting the challenges unpaid carers face, mentioning that 76% experience stigma and exclusion from social events, and 86% feel loneliness and isolation.
This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we want to highlight the power of community 👥
#Community is vital for #MentalHealth but for #UnpaidCarers it can sometimes feel out of reach.
That's why we focus on creating spaces for connection & respite through our #CarersGroups & #CommunityCaringCentres 💜🧡
A bar graph showing the impact of Respite through Community Caring Centres - 98% of carers said that they were unable to take a break from their caring responsibilities before our support vs 20% after; 63%, of carers reported being able to ask and rely on another person to take over their caring duties if they have to attend to another matter before our support vs 98% after
Our #CommunityCaringCentres make a massive difference to carers' lives 💜🧡
