Poking around in the Conquests of Camelot game files, I found an alternate palette with what might be a moodier sky design for the edge of the frozen lake at Ot Moor.
The version in-game is more realistic, but less dramatic.

An early screenshot of the closeup of Merlin in the intro of Sierra's Conquests of Camelot. The top of the screen shows a title bar saying "Conquests of Camelot I", which was removed from the final game. Merlin's dialogue has slightly different line spacing than in the final game. Meanwhile, the four emblems at the corners of the screen display black swastikas on a blue ground (going counterclockwise on the left side and clockwise on the right). The swastikas' bent arms each bend back the other way again at the outer tip of each arm.
The final version of Merlin's closeup in the Conquests of Camelot intro. The title bar has been removed, and Merlin's dialogue text has different spacing. The emblems in the corners now show two interlocking black bands, forming a hollow X shape with squared ends, on a purple ground.
Some more swastikas that were cut from #ConquestsOfCamelot before release: the corner emblems in Merlin's closeup in the intro.
Again, I doubt artist Peter Ledger meant these in anything other than the ancient "sun symbol" sense, but the change is understandable. #sierra #adventuregames
