My first oil painting, 1979.

My Aunty was fixing up a run-down cottages in Cotterdale, near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dale's. For 2 weeks every year, we'd leave our council estate, Halewood, for a holiday in a place with no gas/electricity. We loved it.

Cotter Force is a beautiful and relatively secluded waterfall in the Upper Wensleydale, just a couple of miles outside of Hawes. It is one of the most accessible waterfalls in the Dales.
