As Shadow Trade Minister in the early 2000s, I publicly opposed the US-Aust #FreeTradeAgreement. For this I was ostracised & US Administration figures refused to meet with me. The US has violated it & has violated #WTO rules. Seems I was right.

As Trade Minister I too was put under pressure by the US to weaken our #PBS at the behest of #BigPharma. And to agree to #ISDS, where an external body could overrule our national laws. To the credit of #JuliaGillard, #WayneSwan& #NicolaRoxon we said NO!
