More than 900 people now say they were abused at Illinois youth prisons A new batch of complaints filed Tuesday include 107 new cases of alleged sexual abuse at Illinois Youth Centers and the Cook County juvenile jail.

Being incarcerated doesn't make anyone any less deserving of safety and a life free from sexual harm. From our work with #CriminalizedSurvivors, we know that unfortunately, these experiences of abuse are not rare. But they are unacceptable.
