Verschneiter Wanderweg mit drei zueinander parallel verlaufenden, selbst gespurten Langlaufspuren im Neuschnee auf Magerwiesen, die typischen Bewuchs auf Muschelkalk darstellen. Der Weg steigt sanft an und führt auf einen Hügel im Hintergrund, wo er sich verliert. Der Himmel ist blau, aber leicht nebelverhangen. Man sieht keine anderen Menschen oder Tiere.
In der Bildmitte steht ein steinernes Denkmal mit quadratischem Grundriss und zirka 1,80 m Höhe auf einer verschneiten Hügelkuppe oberhalb von Jena. Die Hügelkuppe fällt zu beiden Seiten des Denkmals sanft nach links und rechts, was dem Bild eine leichte bilaterale Symmetrie verleiht. An einer Seite des Denkmals lehnt ein Paar Langlaufski. Frische Langlaufskispuren führen zum Denkmal. Zum Hintergrund hin fällt das Gelände etwas steiler ab, bevor es sich in einem nebelverhangenen Wald für den Betrachter verliert. Über die Landschaft spannt sich ein blauer Himmel mit vereinzelten hohen Wolken. Menschen oder Tiere sind keine zu erkennen; dies verleiht dem Bild etwas Beruhigendes und Meditatives (wobei dies eine subjektive Einschätzung des Fotografen ist).
Frischer #Neuschnee zwang mich heute, auf meinem Hausberg vor der Haustür wieder ein paar Kilometer Loipenspur anzulegen. Als Bonus hat sich endlich auch die #Sonne wieder mal gezeigt. #Jena #Langlaufski #crosscountryski
