The River Scouts find themselves face-to-face with The Peddler, whose curses have plagued them for over a year now.
The stage is set for a hell of a season finale in a way that #CryptidCreeks is uniquely able to deliver.
What a damn good time that session was to act as Navigator. #TTRPG
Powering through the day, exhausted, because tonight continues the season finale of my #CryptidCreeks game.
Things are about to get even more deeply cursed. Unless you’re one of my River Scouts reading this, in which case that’s a joke and everything is going to be sunshine and not Eldritch at all.
All of this to say that #CryptidCreeks has been a wonderful little corner of magic and weird and a healthy bit of Eldritch spookiness, and I can’t recommend it enough.
It’s my favorite Carved From Brindlewood game, and one very much worth checking out.
Having an amazing table to play with helped that immensely, of course.
There are about two to three more episodes worth of #CryptidCreeks left in this first season, depending on how the players approach it, and that’s been over a year worth of life happening with gaming sprinkled in.
Season Finale, part one, of my #CryptidCreeks game last night happened despite me definitely having caught the cold 3 passed around the house.
It included throwbacks to characters from previous curses, insidious creeping dread, and also Muppets. I had a lot of fun running it. #TTRPG
I absolutely adore #CryptidCreeks and cannot recommend it enough. Added bonus: #CryptidCities will be launching on Backerkit this Halloween and it looks AMAZING.
I’m also spoiled by having the best troupe of River Scouts a Navigator could hope to have.
A look back at 2025 in #TTRPG fun:
I ran a healthy bit of #CryptidCreeks, one of my top 3 favorites games presently.
I ran some unhinged one-shots. They were goofy.
I joined some spooky and silly one-shots (and got dragged to Hell during an especially distracted game of Call of Cthulhu).
A Muppet Cryptid Creeksmas - part 1 included some light rodent arson, a beloved cameo from another game, and shockingly well-coordinated musical numbers.
Thanks forever to the wonderful table of River Scouts who enable such wonderfully mischievous episodes. #CryptidCreeks #TTRPG
Excited to run a homebrewed holiday episode of #CryptidCreeks tonight that I’ve affectionately dubbed A Cryptid Creeksmas Carol.
I won’t say yet what iteration of A Christmas Carol it draws inspiration from, but…
I could post novels of praise for #CryptidCreeks. It’s a truly top-notch blending of whimsy and just enough horror, allowing tables to tweak it to meet their needs. This Carved from Brindlewood game is sure to be a source of great times for any table.
Favorite game I’ve run in a long while.
Extra crispy levels of burnt out after this past weekend and fueled by spite, but I also came up with a silly little #CryptidCreeks holiday special (affectionately dubbed Cryptid Creeksgiving) to run tonight so that has me getting through the day.
Running a shorter-than-usual episode of #CryptidCreeks tonight as the creaky old cryptid I am because it’ll help fend off the insanity that is the rest of this week.
🌙Tonight at 8:30 PM EST — Night Two of All Hallows, All Dice! on
@nerdswdice.bsky.social
We’re playing #CryptidCreeks, a #TTRPG where the River Scouts of Shingleford uncover a Curse spreading through their town - and it might just ruin their #Halloween at school! 🎃

Lots of amazing moments during last night’s Episode of #CryptidCreeks. One of my favorites was the River Scouts encountering a bedraggled, bewildered cave explorer who had absolutely Seen Some Shit only for @teatimerpg.bsky.social to hit him with the old “That’s rough, buddy.”
Did I use the Devil’s Delve Curse episode of #CryptidCreeks as an excuse for #TheBuried from #TheMagnusArchives to make an appearance?
Maybe.
Oh no, there appear to be some Cryptids in the Creek! Probably better than Creeks being in Cryptids?
Anyway, this is a hell of a way to say I’m excited to run #CryptidCreeks for my marvelous troupe of River Scouts tonight - sleep-deprived and chaotic as I am presently. #TTRPG
The loudest, most enthusiastic congratulations to the endlessly wonderful folks at @hatchlingdm.itch.io on #UNDERISLES hitting 573% funded on Kickstarter.
If you’ve not been around long enough to witness me preaching the good word of #CryptidCreeks or checked their games out, you should fix that.
This is me holding myself accountable to eventually make a TikTok about the Toon Tomfoolery episode of #CryptidCreeks from last night as I’m happy to share it in case others may find it a fun way to run an off-book filler session. #TTRPG
This was basically a beach episode dressed in the world + gameplay of #CryptidCreeks and allowed for a lot of play while still maintaining the slightly spooky undercurrent this game can do so well.
I encourage giving trying it with your own spin on things for a lower-prep fun episode. #ttrpg 7/7
Last night’s episode of #CryptidCreeks involved the River Scouts dropped into a world of Toon logic by way of being drawn into (quite literally at times) a cursed graphic novel.
Player buy-in to an uncertain, antic-filled episode is key for this to work; I’m blessed with a flexible group. 1/7
This is me making a mental note to share the details of tonight’s #CryptidCreeks session tomorrow at some point. Because I desperately need sleep.
Especially proud of tonight’s episode of #CryptidCreeks. It was largely a framework of an idea for a beach/filler episode. It had drama, cartoon physics, and swear words that manifested as physical threats.
All made possible thanks to the trust of my wonderful table of River Scouts. #TTRPG
My approach to being a #CryptidCreeks Navigator is very ‘A Pup Named Scooby Doo’ with a truckload of hallucinogens. #TTRPG
Heavy presence of The Distortion specifically, The Stranger, a hint of The Hunt, and a player-induced appearance by The Corruption.
Except it was less #TheMagnusArchives tonally speaking than it was Monty Python. #CryptidCreeks #TTRPG
The real question: will I, in my preemptive grief and exhaustion, channel more of The Stranger, The Spiral, The Corruption, or The Hunt tonight? Because they’re all VERY REAL POSSIBILITIES. #TTRPG #CryptidCreeks
I’m so fucking tired and life is really lifeing, but I’m about to run some #TheMagnusArchives Stranger levels of bizarre episode of #CryptidCreeks and I’m so sorry to my players who are about to experience that (but not really).
Did tonight’s #CryptidCreeks episode end up riddled with things ranging from nods to direct references to #TheMagnusArchives?
Well, with me as the Navigator the answer seems obvious.
Balanced that out with a judicial application of silliness, of course.
#TTRPG
Life declared life to be occurring, so no #CryptidCreeks tonight.
Going to take this as a sign to wind down early because the rest of this week looks to be a relentless beast.
I would like to time-skip the upcoming dentist episode as well as the upcoming work trip episodes and arrive at the weekend slightly bedraggled but all the better for glossing over those things.
I can’t do that, however, as tonight’s #CryptidCreeks night after life interfering for the past too long
My #CryptidCreeks game is sort of on hiatus while life happens (Mrs. Bourbon is recovering from a major surgery, 2 is getting a major surgery soon, etc).
To that end: what games are you adventuring through? Any fun stuff you’re running?
