Grand Spectacle I know, this probably wouldn't be considered an abstract photo in the strictest sense, but it's just so alien and unusual that I can't resist but to add it in to my abstract weekends. It is also my final photo from Cuevas del Drach in Mallorca. It truly was a spectacle and I think I've saved one of the grandest shots until last.

The Shans are on holiday in Mallorca, mainly swimming, sunbathing and eating!

But yesterday we visited the Caves of Drach. I’ve visited a lot of caves over the years, but this one is hard to top - the sheer scale and beauty of it is jaw dropping!

This Way Up As with so many of my photos from Cuevas del Drach, it's almost impossible to tell if the photo is upside-down or the right way up, such is the alien visage we are presented with. It's also somewhat humbling to know that some of the stalactites in these caves have likely been forming since long before modern humans were a thing.
