We should be critiquing previous/existing platforms & tools—that's one important job of DH scholarship—its the flippancy that seems almost cruel, or at least unthoughtful #DH2018

As an old, I cringe every time a presenter throws off "as everyone knows X is *terrible*" for a laugh, when X is an older DH platform/tool designed by DH scholars rather than corporations— those scholars could even be in the audience—has happened several times already at #DH2018

At Northeastern we have a core curricular requirement in "experiential education" that requires a smaller enrollment cap—arguing to place ToT in this category allowed me to teach experimentally with a manageable number of students—though I had to offer two sections! #DH2018 #PS01
