Silent shorts were brilliant as they always are. Laurel and Hardy seem to have one film and it’s great each time. Live accompaniment was fab. Here endeth #diff2026. Safe House was the best thing with Lady a close second.
The Last Viking was a curious mix of gentle (if perhaps slightly ableist) comedy and very strong violence with a quite weird end message which may or may not have been all that wholesome. #diff2026
Gorky Resort not the most nuanced film in the world but understandable given themes and current situation. I was sat next to Aidan Gillen which was a bit odd. #diff2026
Redress looked very pretty and had a nicely mysterious vibe, though not sure all that much actually happened? Maybe that’s a good thing? Hope it got Brittany tourist board funding. #diff2026

Third film Safe House which was best yet. Very funny and beautifully shot and acted. Most charming post film interview too. #diff2026

Hallo Betty was pretty nice and interesting. Funny how cultural figures are so country specific (though very recognisable). Nice period costumes. #diff2026
Lady was very good and funny. Sian Clifford was excellent and so were her clothes and so was the raven. #diff2026

Delighted to get this one across the line and into #DIFF2026. It's been a mad scramble over the past month! This is the story of a city fighting for itself as a broken property market ruthlessly chews up its citizens for profit, treats homes as assets and people as obstacles to be moved out.
Huge thanks is also owed to the absolute rake of musicians and producers who lent us music for the soundtrack during a frantic last minute scramble once we were locked in for the #DIFF2026 screening. There'll be more on that later, but trust us - it absolutely slaps!
Filmed over four years, Displace: The Battle For Dublin is a documentary about the trauma of developer-led change and the community resistance that follows.
It's made the official selection at #DIFF2026. Screening Sun Feb 22, 13:30 at the Lighthouse Cinema.
