Re: Vote YES for Bill 206
Are you seriously kidding?! Talking about concerns that "people involved" won't be properly consulted, and bragging about the investment in disability? While you watch the ab govt claw back federal disability money from disabled people and invest in setting up and running a SECOND and COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY DISABILITY PROGRAM THAT WAS DECIDED WITHOUT CONSULTING DISABLED PEOPLE?!?! Are they getting Federal money to abuse disabled people? You don't seem worried about the "potential cost and administrative burden" when it comes to taking money away from disabled folks. Or taking away the voices of those trying so hard to advocate for themselves. But when able bodied folks complain that building accessibility accommodations is tough or expensive, you must listen and advocate for them? Do you even hear yourself?! Do you even care about the disabled folks struggling day to day to pay bills and stay ahead of credit card debt? I'm terrified I will lose my home even though l've tried so hard to be responsible, tried to set up "work" that I can do from home (failed miserably), and have cut every expense I can cut. This was a thoughtless response from someone who has never faced the reality of lifelong disability, and to be honest, I'm not surprised. Shame on you.
Are You GD KIDDING ME?!?
That is the DEFINITION of how we build disability programs in alberta!
So I told them so.
