A dropping rose bloom, viewed from the side. If you are weird like me, you can see a forehead and a nose and an open mouth in the petals.

#DTSJ gets some more street murals, linking San Pedro Square to The Shark Tank. I was happy to contribute whatever effort needed in the last mile, along with the rest of the cohort. #art #artshare
Ok, it looks like Pretty Good Advice has finally opened full-time in San Jose. Here’s a crappy picture of their menu taken from the Paseo (had my dog, couldn’t go in). I haven’t eaten there yet, but plan to go very soon.

A photo of a red folding bicycle with a “We the People - NO KINGS IN AMERICA” flag flying on back. The bike is in the foreground, and parked on the relatively empty Paseo de San Antonio in downtown San Jose, with San Jose State University in the background, on a sunny morning
It’s Saturday in America, which means it’s a great day for a No Kings ride 🚫👑🇺🇸🚲

For those in #DTSJ that remember the Blackbird (created by the late, great Chris Esparza), here's a pic there of Cole Walker performing. I miss that menu too... #livemusic #jazz

Posters on the boarded-up window of a vacant store. Both feature frogs wearing whistles around their necks. One poster says ICE OUT. The other poster says CHINGA LA MIGRA.

I don't remember the band name, but I remember they did a cover of "Love TKO" from Teddy Pendergrass, and they were damn good. It was 2019/20 ish. #livemusic #DTSJ
Uproar in #DTSJ no longer exists, But I definitely had a lot of good times there, including doing several group and solo shows. This is a BTS shot of me prepping "my" wall at a show there w/ me and Patron, back during the era of Local Colors' original 1st Street studios, which we both belonged to.
This Thursday, join us for the first #HackNight of the year in #DTSJ:

from 2021, I messed about painting on a bottle of "5th & Bowie" to exactly how one might expect me to...then left it in a derelict phonebooth in #DTSJ for someone to extract. #art
Ok, some good news for downtown San Jose #dtsj. The spot where Iguana’s used to be (3rd & San Carlos) now has a taqueria / pupuseria.
Really excellent, highly recommend. The owners work the till. We split a few pupusas and my son got tacos. They also have sopes, which I’ll have to try next time.
Oh man, I really need to be eating street tacos right about now. But everything is closed!

The modal filter on St John at 10th allows bicycles to proceed straight through in both directions, but forces cars to turn onto 10th St.
One of the nice features of the St John bicycle boulevard in downtown San Jose are the periodic modal filters that directing through car traffic to parallel streets, letting bicycles enjoy a low traffic through route.

Downtown #SanJose has an identity problem and digital #billboards make it worse. Billboards are designed to distract. They overwhelm nearby architecture and the pedestrian street environment. What a mistake!
