In May 2022, the nonprofit "Downtown North STL Community Improvement District" was created by John Bergland & Steve Stone. This nonprofit will select the board members of the new #DTnorthCID

The key drivers behind the #DTnorthCID are John Berglund and Steve Stone.
Berglund redeveloped the 900 N. Tucker building, aka #SquareTIF
Stone redeveloped the Globe building at 710 N. Tucker.
Both projects received tax incentives.

The petition for the CID wasn't included in the BB 102 document online until 11.18.24.
The bill was heard and approved by the #HUDZ Committee on 11.12.24.
The public can't provide informed testimony when a critical part of the legislation was not available online.

At the full BOA meeting on 11.15.24, #BOAbb102 was 2nd read and perfected on a consent vote.
Why the rush?
The special assessments that will be levied on property owners by the #DTnorthCID need to be mailed by the end of this year.

The Board of Aldermen is poised to take its final vote tomorrow on BB 102 for the Downtown North St. Louis CID.
I believe the #DTnorthCID will be a developer-dominated district where the goals of a select group of individuals will be accomplished at the expense of the majority of property owners.
