Time for a little solar astronomy with the #Dwarf2. So much for that Grand Solar Minimum, eh?

Photo de la lune presque pleine. Les nombreux cratères et impacts sont visibles.

Orion Nebula (M42) last night in France. Clear sky, but high moon. #Dwarf2 telescope : 15s/60/180
Post treatment DWARFLAB mega stack and stellar studio.
Two tripod-mounted devices are set up outdoors in front of a wooden fence. The taller tripod holds a rectangular, gray device with dual lenses and connected white cables. The shorter tripod supports a similar device angled slightly upward. Green grass and some leafy plants grow at the fence's base. White string lights are loosely attached to the fence.
My #Dwarf2 (r) and #Dwarf3 (l) recording the #birds of the backyard. I am dumping all of my videos from these two (and my #Canon) over here: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...
A slightly longer, better quality video shot from my #Canon instead of the #Dwarf2 / #Dwarf3 showing a mother European Starling feeding her hungry and and absurdly large youngster. #Birds

The Sun may be beating down, but it is comparatively quiet in terms of sunspots today. #Dwarf2 🔭
Watched today's partial eclipse with my Dwarf II.
Unfortunately I didn't get all of it as I forgot to use an external battery pack and timelapse mode really drains the battery hard. Still I'm happy with what I got.

Flashback to our visitor, Comet C/2023 A3, also known as Tsuchinshan-ATLAS
This was, i believe, one of the last few evenings visible

Good morning, shot of Waning Gibbous moon taken this morning.

Here we see two photos of the Moon combined into one, as if we see the earthshine lighting up the dark side of the Moon #dwarlab #dwarf2 #moon
The tail of comet C2023A3 Tsuchinsan-ATLAS was so large that I had to take a mosaic of 4 separate photos to get it all (2024-10-25) #dwarflab #dwarf2 #comet
The november Moon with its many many craters visible because of slowly rising Sunlight #dwarflab #dwarf2 #moon
Nice to see so many people getting into #Astrophotography because of devices like the #SeeStar & #Dwarf2
Photograph of the Beaver Super Moon taken in Livingston, Tennessee, on November 16, 2024, at 03:00. The image captures the Moon in stunning detail, highlighting its craters, ridges, and bright rays against a pitch-black sky. Text at the bottom includes the event name, location, date, and time, along with a small watermark that reads “Ragle.”
The Beaver Super Moon, shot this morning using my Dwarf 2, 1000 images at 1/1000 exposure, 20 gain, IR Cut, color corrected in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.

ちなみにこのあと、もう一回撮影しようとしたけど、既に曇ってしまって、戻り彗星としてはコレが初でラスト^^;
スマート望遠鏡 #DWARF2 スゴイ!!

Why am I up until 2:30am?
Because I found the spec for the #dwarflab #dwarf2 #dwarfii api and started building a dotnet (.net) library to control my scope.
If they made the app easier to use I wouldn't need to do this, ask anyone who's tried to set the gain/shutter speed etc with a big fat finger...
A sunny morning, so a chance to test the replacement solar filters for my #Dwarf2 (I lost the originals when I fell off a cliff. Really). All good and Sun suitably spotty.
One other #Dwarf2 versus #eVscope comparison from last night’s twilight skies, looking at M81. You get a lot more detail with the #eVscope, but the #Dwarf2 gives you M82 for free!
So I took a look at the rather unusual open star cluster NGC 188. Half-hour exposures with each telescope. The larger field of view of the #Dwarf2 puts the cluster in context nicely, while the larger aperture of the #eVscope picks up many fainter stars. 2/5
Into the eternal twilight of late May and lots of Moon, so really not that dark, but too nice a night last night not to get a telescope out. And if one is good, two is better, so both the little #Dwarf2 and the #eVscope were out on the patio. 1/5
I wish we had more #Dwarf2 users here to share our experiences, dissatisfactions and, sometimes, photos XD
